Innovation: The pollution caused by rice husk burning, earned 20 lakh rupees in just one year, know how

New Delhi. This is Bibhu Sahu’s story. But a little different from other stories. Bibhu is from that Kalahandi in Odisha who lived in the news for a while because of hunger. Bibhu was a teacher in the same Kalahandi, but in 2007 he quit his job to do rice business. Everything was fine so far, but a new turn in his story came when he made an innovation and started earning 20 lakh rupees annually from it. The story of Bibhu, who turned rice bran into “black gold”, is published on The Better India website. Learn how Bibhu, the owner of Haripriya Agro Industries, spoke in vain in the fire to turn rice husk into a source of income. Diya … “Kalahandi is the second largest producer of rice in Odisha. About 50 quintal lakh paddy rice is grown here every year. After the rice industry, I also decided to enter the rice factory in 2014. There are dozens of para-blowing companies that handle rice. It produces chaff on a large scale. Only in my factory about 3 tons of chaff is produced every day. Usually the husk was thrown in an open place or burned. After passing through the air, it causes breathing difficulties and eyes . There was a lot of damage to the environment. Many people from the neighborhood complained about this. When we saw the growing grievances of the people, we packed the chaff and started to keep it in the warehouse. But soon there was a shortage of it. space. I didn’t understand anything about it. Then I did some research. I found out that rice bran can be used as thermal insulator in steel industry. It contains 85% silica. Therefore it is very good for use in steel industry. eel refractors. In this way, the use of burnt shell in the boiler does not cause too much pollution from high temperatures. Had done the research, but the real problem was its implementation. Then I somehow raised money and also visited an Egyptian steel company. I made a proposal to that company with a sample. He showed his interest and asked if it could be available in powder form. I said it would be difficult because it can fly in the air. Then, after much discussion, it was decided that the case would be exported in the form of a tablet. I had spoken to the company, but a new challenge has come up. I didn’t know how to shoot. That’s why I called experts from many states, such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal. However, nothing came out. A poultry farm was also approached to understand the process of making pallets. But this attempt also went in vain. For the next few months, I spent all my resources on research. I felt that my concept was not practical and I almost gave up. But at the same time, one of my employees took some time to resolve it. After this he went to his village and came with four people. Then we did some experiments with his help and we succeeded. Initially it took a few weeks to get the palette in the right shape. Our pellets ranged in size from 1mm to 10mm. Now I wrote emails to companies in France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Australia, Taiwan and the UK to keep this shipment. Finally, our first shipment in 2019 went to Saudi Arabia. The companies really liked this product because the pellet was very well lit. They were also quite cheap and their quality was good. In the year 2019, I earned 20 lakh rupees by selling 100 tons of pellets. In this way we changed the shell to black gold.
